Richard “Marty” Pickett passed away after a long, courageous battle with dementia. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Sandra Pickett as well as his two children, Heather
Labrecque (Gary) of Hubert, NC and Scott Pickett (Kimberly) of Smithfield, NC. He is also survived by his two stepchildren, Robert Rideout (Courtney) of Wendell and Kendal Rasor (Chris) of Cameron, NC as well as 9 grandchildren.
Marty lived most of his life in Raleigh, NC where he enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family. His love of Duke basketball was legendary as was his passion for music. He will be sorely missed by all.
A visitation for Marty will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 at Ephesus Baptist Church, 6767 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC followed by a funeral service at 11:00am.
