

Robert “Butch” Heidelmark, age 78 of Clayton, North Carolina, formerly of Plattsburgh, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, North Carolina with his family by his side.
He was born in Albany, New York on January 14, 1947, to the late Harold B. Heidelmark and the late Betty Irene Sears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Cheryl, Kenny, Ronnie, and “Little” Jim.
Butch was a carpenter by trade in the Plattsburgh area for many years and worked at Wyeth Laboratories in Rouses Point until his retirement. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons in his early years, and spending time with his family. Butch was an avid storyteller and liked to reminisce about his life in upstate New York.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Paulette Gibeau Heidelmark; children, Michael (KC) Heidelmark and Tony (Candida) Heidelmark; grandchildren, Matthew, Kami, Brenden, Briar, Cianna, and Alexis; great grandchild, August; brothers and sisters, Eileen Blake, Dennis Heidelmark, Jackie Trombley, Karen Blake, Sally Collins, Wanda Drake; many in-laws Jeanne & Tommy Kelley, Greg & Dianne Ransom, Monique Gibeau, Ronald Gibeau as well as many nieces, and nephews.
