The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Rose Marie Luzi Izzo, age 80, of Clayton, formerly of Whispering Pines, North Carolina passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton.

Rose Marie was born in Rockland County, New York on July 28, 1945 to the late Luigi Luzi and the late Rose Antonini Luzi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband

Bobby. Their marriage of 57 years was filled with love, laughter, and compassion. The love they shared and the life they built together continue to inspire their children, grandchildren, and all who were

touched by their journey.

Rose Marie’s favorite job was “retired”. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, hosting summer pool parties, Bunco with her friends and big Italian family holidays. Ro had the rare gift of being both sweet and sassy - loving deeply, while never afraid to speak her mind. She was known as “Bammie” to her 10 grandchildren and shared a special bond with each one of them. Endless

visits, telephone and facetime calls always brought smiles to their faces, with back-and-forth banter that became treasured memories.

She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Jo Rauscher (Keith), Jackie McGuire, Lisa Murtagh (Pat) and Robyn Ricciardi (Rickey); grandchildren, Jillian (Jason Rutschman), Alli (Claudia Kolakowski), Lindsay (Chris Heib), Robby (Maggie McGuire), Travis (Julianne Priore), Nicky (Jamileth Aguilar) Kassidy, Taylor (Bella Sherri), Jake and Isabella; brother Lou (Donna Luzi), and sister Joanne (Chris Hylas).

Rose Marie is also survived by her constant canine companion, Suki. Also very special to Rose Marie are nieces and nephews. Michael Luzi, Trisha Davis, Lori (John Roberts), Kevin Hylas, Stephen Hylas, James

Hylas (Nicole). Rose Marie had many cousins and friends who have been a big part of her life.
