

Sarah Lee Green Carroll, 78, daughter of the late Coy and Mary Green, went home to be with her heavenly Father on January 29, 2017, surrounded by family. Sarah was raised in Johnston County and attended Corinth-Holders High School. She was a devoted member of Powhatan OFWB Church of Clayton. Sarah will always be remembered as having a servant's heart and a contagious smile and laugh. Her loving spirit touched so many lives, both family and friends, even before and after her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s. If you were lucky enough to know Sarah Carroll, you knew you were loved and prayed for. In addition to her parents, Sarah was also predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Lumas Odell Carroll. She is survived by her daughter; Jackie Guy and husband Mark of Clayton and a son; Thomas Carroll and wife Mandy of Pikeville; sister, Joyce Carter and husband Charles of Clayton, brother; Onnie Greene and wife Sue of Selma; two nieces Lisa Carter and Rhonda Hobgood; and four grandchildren, Crystal Yau and husband Yeeka, Johnathon Carroll, Brianna Thompson and Sarah Thompson. The family wishes to thank Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro who assisted with her care as she made her final journey home to be with the Lord; as well as, the staff at Barbour Court in Smithfield who provided care and support over the last four years and to the White Oak Baptist Church care givers for their loving acts of kindness. While flowers are accepted, memorial donations may be made to: Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Thursday in the Chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
