Sue Smith Hall, 87, passed away Friday at Wake Med, Raleigh after a brave fight for many years with health issues that ended with a heart attack on Friday. A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the Late Malcolm and Josephine Smith. In 1996, she retired from the Department of Revenue after 26 years of service and was a long time faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Garner. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 AM at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Rev. Tommy V. Pearce will be officiating the service.
Sue is survived by her husband of 68 years. James Elbert who was also her caregiver for many of her later years, Also by her sisters; Barbara, Clennis, and Joan who were friends and sisters for all of Sue’s life. Sue is also survived by her son, Randy Hall (Sandy) of Garner; Pamela Williams (Terry) of Raleigh; Shelley Hall of Dallas; grandchildren; Suzanne, Stacey (Brendan), Jessica (Keith); great-grandchildren; Collier, Emory, Taylor (Daniel), London, Kamryn, Neveah, Lukas, Matthew, Lilly, and Kallie, plus many special nieces and nephews and friends.
She was very organized. She loved her family and was a beautiful lady. She was a good cook, loved to shop and travel, crochet and she loved flowers! She will be truly missed.
