Susan Quinn

SUSAN L. QUINN, 76 of Clayton, North Carolina peacefully passed away on August 18, 2022. Born on January 24, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is predeceased by her parents Mabel (Annable) and Glen Wilson.

A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Susan loved and supported those around her. Susan was married 53 years to her loving husband, James A. Quinn. From that union, their daughters Kathryn Joy and Jennifer Lynn were born.

Susan enthusiastically participated in activities with family and friends including celebrations, holidays and vacations. She lived in Maryland and worked for the federal government in Washington, DC for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she and Jim made North Carolina their home. Shortly after the move, she joined The Woman’s Club of Clayton and enjoyed participating with the organization. There she found new friendships she cherished for the remainder of her life.

Some of Susan’s favorite hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She loved to research genealogy, scrap booking, going to flea markets, shopping in antique stores and traveling.

Susan is survived by her husband, James A. Quinn and sister Sarah Burke (Richard). Cherishing her memory are her daughters Kathryn Candore (Scott) and Jennifer Quinn (Alicia). She is also survived by her grandchildren Anna-Marie Giles (Daniel) and Sara Candore, along with many extended family members.

A visitation for Susan will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, North Carolina 27520. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at McLaurin Funeral Home, followed by burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Highway 70, Clayton, North Carolina.
