

Gloria completed her life’s journey and passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on December 9th, 2012. She spent her last weeks, as she did all her life, surrounded by family and friends.
Gloria was born in Chehalis, WA on March 6th, 1927 to Walter and Helen Woolley. She was raised in Ronald, WA and attended Ronald Grade School and Cle Elum High School, later moving to Seattle and graduating from Cleveland High School.
In 1954, she married Frank Jovanovich. Together, they raised three children, Elizabeth, Barbara and Alan.
At the age of 56, Gloria decided to finish college. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Central Washington University and a Master’s degree in Art and Literature from City University. She was a substitute teacher in the south Seattle area before retiring at age 71.
During her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, reading, her house in Cle Elum and social activities with family and many friends. She was a member of the Ronald-Roslyn-Cle Elum Heritage Club, the American Slavic Women’s Club, and the Croatian Fraternal Union.
In addition to her husband Frank and 3 children, she is survived by sons-in-law Joe Miles, Rick Holt and daughter-in-law Noemi Jovanovich; granddaughters Heather Schomber, Haily Holt, Izabel Jovanovich, and great granddaughter Cassie Schomber. She is also survived by her brother Walt Woolley Jr. and 2 sisters, Evelyn Chamberlain and Shirley Gilbert.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday December 15th, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Cle Elum WA. Reception immediately following at the Sunset Cafe in Cle Elum.
