

Dick was born on August 29, 1925, in Richland, MO, to Willie and Honor Wolfe. His little sister, Betty, died at age seven. He graduated high school in 1943 from Hartford City, IN. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served our country in WWII as a third class aviation radio man.
Dick married Betty “Blakeney” in 1951 in Spokane, WA. They had two children; son, Alan, and daughter, Nancy, both born while the family was residing in Richland, WA. In 1954, they moved to Toppenish, WA, where he founded R.E. Wolfe Distributing. He was a very successful businessman and ran his business until he retired in 1993.
Betty passed away in 1986. Dick married Paulette Patnode in 1989. They built a second home in Cle Elum, WA, and moved there permanently in 1993.
Dick was active in the Sun County Maintenance Association. He was a long-time supporter of the Toppenish Rodeo and S.O.S. He belonged to the Toppenish Eagles Aeries #2229, where he served as Aeries President. He also was a member of the American Legion Club Post #50, and the Mt. Adams Golf and Country Club in Toppenish. Dick was an avid golfer and was a member on the State Champion Eagles Bowling Team.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette, of Cle Elum; son, Alan (Dani) of Post Falls, ID; daughter, Nancy Edwards (Kevin) of Coeur d’Alene, ID; 5 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; and his faithful companion, Wolfie.
At Dick’s request, there will be no formal services, but a wake will be held at his home on June 29, at 1:00 pm in Cle Elum, WA.
