Adora "Dorie" Conway

Mrs. Conway was born April 4, 1922 in DuBois, PA, the daughter of Frank and Vida (Harris) Welty.

She was a 1940 graduate of the DuBois High School and had also attended Penn State and Clarion Universities.

Mrs. Conway had worked in the accounting office of Gino’s and J.C. Penny, both of King of Prussia.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Rockton.

Mrs. Conway volunteered at the DuBois Food Pantry and was a member of the DuBois Nursing Home Auxiliary.

Dorie loved spending the winters in Sarasota, FL, and while there, attended the Sun and Fun Community Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Sarasota Red Hatter’s and the Sun and Fun Corps.

Mrs. Conway is survived by a son, Sam Conway of Navarre, FL, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John E. Conway, a son, Corky Conway, two sisters; Mary Burt and Thelma Waldbisser and three brothers; Gerald, Lawrence and Carl Welty.

Funeral Services will be held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rockton on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment will be in Rockton Cemetery.
