

Born on November 8, 1950 in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of Cecil and Phyllis (Selfridge) Beish.
Greg was a Clearfield Area High School graduate of the Class of 1969. He attended
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, OK, and the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL
He was Methodist by faith.
While in high school, he was named All American in Football, he played in the Big 33 game, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for football in Clearfield and the state of Pennsylvania. Greg was drafted, out of high school, to the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Team. While attending Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, in 1969 he was a member of the Jr. College National Champion Football team. As a student for the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, he had the best curveball and played for the University of Miami Hurricanes as a pitcher.
When Greg wasn’t working as a self-employed contractor, doing residential construction in the Clearfield area, he was coaching Pee-Wee Football for Clearfield and the Glendale Vikings for Glendale Jr. Sr. Area High School.
Greg is survived by his son, Brian G. Beish, and two grandsons, Nolan and Lucas Beish, all of Philipsburg, PA.
He is also survived by his brother, Preston “Pd” Beish and his wife, Barbara of Grampian, PA; and nieces and nephew, Christene Beish, Charleston, West Virginia, Melanie Lenz and her husband, Kurt of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Beish, Irvin, PA, and Amanda Greenland and her husband, Brandon of North Hills, PA.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Erin Beish.
A Celebration of Life will be held at West Side United Methodist Church on Thursday,, August 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David McElwee officiating.
