Born on February 23, 1972 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the devoted and loving son of Barbara L. Snyder (Jay) of Clearfield and William A. Snyder originally from Clearfield and living in Venice, FL.
Dave, as he was affectionately known, travelled and lived all over the country spending many years in Hawaii, Kenner, LA, Warner Robins, GA, Bradenton and Venice, FL before settling in Clearfield last year where he finally felt at home.
He was an avid sports fan working several seasons as a top-fuel dragster crew mechanic travelling throughout North America in the late 1990’s. Despite his family’s Pennsylvania roots, Dave greatly enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys with his older brother during football season.
Truly a man of many talents, Dave distinguished himself as a professional landscaper and designer, he worked in South Florida and later on the island of Oahu for nearly five years.
Dave loved music, movies, cooking and spending time with his family and neighbor Mark. He had attended Kaiser University in Florida where he was working on his radiology certification before his illness.
More than anything in life, Dave enjoyed making people laugh and was passionate about helping people in need. Always quick to make friends, he never spoke an unkind word about anyone. It is impossible to think about Dave without remembering his compassion and love for animals. With his faithful dachshund “Kona” by his side for the past 13 years, the two of them always had a smile and warm greeting for family, friends and even strangers.
He is survived by his parents, a brother Tim Snyder of Annapolis, MD and a sister Rebecca and her husband Bill Dorman of Venice, FL, aunts and uncles: Betsy (Bob) Love, Dorothy Drake, Jerry (Judy) Schell, Pam Armanios and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Mary Jay and paternal grandparents: Andrew J. Snyder and Sara Snyder.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield with Rev. Penney Rahm officiating.
Friends will be received from 10:00am until the hour of service at the church.
