Born August 3, 1939 in Pleasant Gap, PA, she was the 5th child of J. Isabel (Hinds) Walker and Norman R. Walker. She is preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Schreffler Rose, and four brothers; Lynn E., Larry C., Neil A., and Ray A. Walker. Deloris married Lewis J. Deloris lived a very full life in her 83 years. All of her life she was active in her faith. Growing up she attended the St.Marks Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap. Later in life she was invited to attend and eventually joined the First Presbyterian Church in Bellefonte. She was privileged to serve as a Deacon for many years. She loved being involved in the youth activities and known as “Gram” to everyone of all ages no matter where she went!
Deloris had a great fondness for bowling, she was a member of the Mid-State Rosie’s bowling team at Bellefonte Lanes for 40 years. She and her bowling family attended many state competitions, river raft rides, and camp fires. There may have been a few shenanigans along the way!
Deloris attended school in Pleasant Gap and graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1957. Later in life she attended CPI in Pleasant Gap and learned the trade of upholstery and caning. In her daily activities she was also a journalist and avid reader of books.
Deloris will be greatly missed by those lives she touched. She would only ask that the kindness, generosity, and compassion she showed all would be shown to others. She was always willing to give of herself to others. Pay forward kindness and compassion in her memory.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. at the home of Debra and Andrew Lucas at 350 Nyna Lane, Bellefonte. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
