

Born May 18, 1967, in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Gerald and Marjorie (Gill) Shaffner.
He was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, Class of 1985. After graduation Doug enlisted in the United States Army and after boot camp was stationed in Germany.
Doug had been employed by R. H. Sheppard Foundry, Hanover, PA for 20 years and Hoya Vision Care, Lewisville, TX.
He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church, Clearfield. He loved music, being outdoors, watching his nephew race when he was in town and was always very proud of his garden.
Doug is survived by a son, Kameron Douglas Shaffner; a stepson, Kaleb William Rigler; two brothers, Greg Shaffner and his wife Barb and Steve Shaffner and his wife Sandy; and a sister Sherry Dixon and her husband Tim. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and Aunts and Uncles and his companion and high school sweetheart, Kimberly Christopher Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Randy Shaffner; stepmother, Alice Bell Shaffner; and maternal grandparents, Arch and Stella Gill.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church, Clearfield on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 11 AM with Rev. Matt Brown officiating. Interment will be in Historic Crown Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10-11 AM.
Doug requested that memorial contributions be made to Historic Crown Crest Cemetery, 2122 Washington Avenue, Clearfield, PA 16830.
