
Mr. Dixon was born May 13, 1937 in Clearfield, the son of Stephen P. and Ethel (Dixon) Burnisky.
He was a graduate of Clearfield High School, Class of 1955 and Kent State.
Mr. Dixon had worked for Clearfield Electronics in 1958 and Cleveland Grain and Engineering in 1959. He then taught drafting at Fairport Harding High School from 1967 to 1971 after which he went to work for Coe Manufacturing in 1977, retiring from that company.
He was affiliated with the Clearfield Alliance Church.
Mr. Dixon held his Private Pilot License and was a member of the NRA.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Genevieve M. (Baker) Dixon whom he married July 3, 1997, five children; Deborah Ball, Edna Goodmanson (Richard), Stephen G. Dixon (Wendy) and Patty Hurst all of Ohio, and Stephanie “Jenny” Barker (James) of Michigan, three step-children; Debbie Davis, Ethel Folmar (Les) and Rusty Coble (Lorrie), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Linda Ruddock (Max) of Pennsylvania and a number of nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stephen G. Burnisky and two sons-in-law; Ed Ball and Paul Hurst.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg officiating.
Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
