Harriet J Morgan

Harriet was born on August 6, 1930 to the late Mac McCoy, Sr. and Isabell (Williams) McCoy. She departed this earthly realm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 4:30 a.m. at Christ The King Manor, DuBois, PA.

Hattie, as she liked to be called, worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Mountain Laurel Nursing Home for almost 30 years before retiring at age 70. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Clearfield and worked part-time at the Clearfield YMCA as a receptionist until the age of 80. She was an avid bowler until the age of 80, loved to crochet, play card games, and work on word puzzles. Other interests included playing the piano and organ at the Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church for more than ten years.

She enjoyed being around people and having fun. Hattie touched the lives of many people and was well loved by many.

She leaves, to cherish her memory, three sons, Terrance of Clearfield, PA, Anthony of Erie, PA, Michael of Reading, PA and two daughters, Marie of Bronx, NY, and Isabell (Alvin) of Hyattsville, MD, nine grandchildren, Melissa Morgan (CA), Patrick Morgan (FL), Renee James (NC), Samantha Morgan (PA), Isiah Morgan (PA), Derek Morgan (VA), Dakota Farmery (PA), Emikeh James (NY), Shayne Morgan (VT); six great-grandchildren, President Morgan-Barnes, Irish Morgan-Barnes, Mikayla Morgan, Melanie Morgan, Maya Morgan, and Noah Morgan and a host of nieces and nephews.

Hattie is also survived by extended family members, Les and Jan Bender, Clearfield, PA and Christina Tyler, Milesburg, PA, and close friend and caregiver to Hattie for over 10 years, Nancy Dale, and many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her five siblings and was the last of her generation.

Friends will be received on Thursday, October 13 from 9-11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 119 N. Second Street, Clearfield, PA, followed by a home-going and celebration of life in the church at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in the Centre Cemetery, Clearfield.
