Julia A. Himes

Mrs. Himes was born on April 24, 1937 in Clearfield, the daughter of Howard and Blanche (Read) Spencer.

She was a 1955 graduate of Clearfield Area High School and a 1959 graduate of Eastern University with a BA in Sociology.

Mrs. Himes had worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare for seven years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Clearfield Presbyterian Church where she was active in the choir.

Mrs. Himes was a volunteer for Marian House of Clearfield and was an active member of the Master Gardeners Club of Clearfield.

She is survived by her husband, John C. Himes whom she married on September 5, 1959, a daughter, Jennifer A. Himes Bush and her husband Eric of Clearfield, two grandsons; Johnathan and Matthew Bush and a brother, Rev. John Spencer of Clearfield.

Mrs. Himes was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Mellgard and Mr. Richard Barkley co-officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 7-9 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Church, 119 North 2nd Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
