Michael J. Reed

He was born on July 18, 1952 in Clearfield, the son of the late John and Mary (Richards) Reed. On October 24, 1970 he married Susan (Guelich) Reed, who survives.

Mike retired from the Clearfield Boro. He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir, and the former chairmen of Trustees and was active with the Kitchen of Care Ministry.

He enjoyed weightlifting, riding motorcycles and target shooting with his son and grandson.

Mike is survived by his wife Susan Reed of Clearfield, son, Travis J. Reed and his wife Denise of Wilmington, DE, three grandchildren: Jamie (Denny) Coyle, Katie Guth and Shane Reed; a great granddaughter, Henley Coyle all of Wilmington, DE; six siblings: Darleen Gruber, Marleen Stucke, Mark (Robin) Stucke, Frank (Maria) Stucke, Carrie (Tim) Sullivan, Bob (Cher) Stucke all of the Buffalo area and a sister-in-law, Sherry (Boyd) Vokes of Curwensville; numerous nieces and nephews and his bulldog, Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at West Side United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating.

Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00pm on Monday, February 1, at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. Friends will also be received on Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until the hour of service.
