

Mr. Borst was born March 26, 1920 in Lawrence Township, the son of Alban and Lona (McGaughey) Borst.
He had worked in the coal industry as a heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Borst was a member of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6, the Clearfield Eagles and the Glen Richey Fire Company.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II.
Mr. Borst enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and gardening.
Orvis is survived by four children; Emery O. Borst and his companion Joann Jarvie of Clymer, Margaret L. “Peggy” Bloom and her husband Lloyd of Clearfield, Mary Jane Pentz and her husband Ray of Gardners and Carl R. Borst and his wife Donna of Williamsburg, VA, seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary M. Borst who passed away February 20, 2007 and whom he married September 3, 1938, three brothers; Robert, James and Leroy Borst and four sisters; Annie Ogden, Vera Thompson, Iva Mae Graham and Madaline Kubista.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Bethel Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
