Ruth C. Thomas

Mrs. Thomas was born June 4, 1917, in Van Ormer, PA, the daughter of Jay and Lois (Troxell) Kuhn- Britten.

She was a graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield.

She is survived by three children: Gary L. Thomas and his wife Loreen of Truckee, CA, Robert B. Thomas and his wife Margaret of Somerset, NJ and Janet G. Webster of Butler, four grandchildren: Christopher Thomas, Jeffrey Thomas, Carrie (Thomas) Beadling and Nicole Webster, six great-grandchildren and a niece, Nicole Britten of Carlisle.

Mrs. Thomas was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Forrest Britten, her husband, Horace B. Thomas whom she married May 15, 1939 at Ebensburg and who passed away December 7, 2001 and a brother, Dale Britten.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 2 to 4 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001 or the West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
