

Mr. Barrett was born December 31, 1932 in LaJose, the son of Arthur C. and Vella (McGarvey) Barrett.
He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School class of 1951.
Mr. Barrett worked for The Progess for over 40 years retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the Bells Landing Baptist Church holding various offices within the church including Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent. He also sang in the choir.
Mr. Barrett was a United States Army Veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy J. (Gates) Barrett, whom he married June 6, 1958 at the Bells Landing Baptist Church by Dr. Kenneth Klingler and assisted by the late Rev. Cora Ardary, two children; Michele N. Rorabaugh and her husband William “Willie” of Burnside and Mark T. Barrett and his wife Peggy of Bells Landing, two grandsons; Ian T. Barrett and Evan M. Barrett, a sister, Kathleen Wulff and her husband Thomas of Middleton, WI, a brother, David A. Barrett and his wife Pamula of LaJose, a step-brother, Joseph White and his wife Cathy of Clymer, two brother-in-law’s; Dr. Kenneth Klingler of SC and Robert Emigh of VA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Helen, three sisters; Freeda Wood, Janet Klingler and Jean Emigh and his step-mother, Dorothy M. (Brady) Barrett.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bells Landing Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will be at Burnside Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4 to 8:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Bells Landing Baptist Church, 6411 Mahaffey Grampian Highway, Mahaffey, PA 15757.
