Wayne Shaw

Mr. Shaw was born July 31, 1916 in Clearfield, the son of Hiram and Bessie (Buck) Shaw.

He had worked for the New York Central Railroad, Strattan Motors. He was the former owner of Arco Gas Station and Shaw’s Repair, retiring in 1978.

Mr. Shaw was an avid model railroader who enjoyed showing his railroad exhibits. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by six children; Donald Shaw and his wife Tomi of Fayetteville, NC., Jean Errigo and her husband Jack of Curwensville, Dorothy Vokes and her husband Tom of Clarks Summit, PA., Robert "Barney" Shaw of Clearfield, Darlene Rauch and her husband Louie of Curwensville and Ronald Shaw and his wife Valerie of Hyde, eighteen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, two sisters; Beverly Sayers of Frenchville and Donna Kurtz and her husband Austin of Clearfield, a brother, Kenneth Shaw and his wife Peg of Cleveland, OH., and a daughter-in-law, Sherryl Shaw of Clearfield.

Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred S. (Condon) Shaw who passed away March 6, 2000 and whom he married June 27, 1936 in Cumberland, MD., two sons; Gerald and Rodger Shaw and a sister, Esther Buzzard.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
