

Albert Joseph Winnier Jr. was born on January 14, 1940, in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Albert Joseph Winnier Sr. and Doris B. Mitchell. He passed away on March 3, 2026, in Palm Harbor, Florida, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center of North Pinellas. He was 86.
Albert was a loved husband, father, and grandfather. He married Carol Ann Hackett in 1962, and together they welcomed four children: Candee, Cheryl, Scott, and Glenn. Albert and Carol divorced in 2004. He later married Charlotte Adamson, and through that marriage became step-father to Sarah and David Eilers. He was a grandfather to twelve children. Al had six half-sisters, two sisters, a twin brother, and a younger brother, and he is survived by one sister.
Al grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and served in the U.S. Air Force, primarily in Alaska. He earned an A.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Mathematics from Suffolk University. An avid pilot, he held numerous licenses, including Flight Instructor and Multi-Engine Transport.
After moving to Florida in 1972, Al earned a General Contractor’s License and spent his career building primarily public structures such as courthouses and schools, until retiring in 2012. In addition to construction, he was also briefly in the banking business, serving as chairman of the Board of Directors of US Bank, as well as chairman to the Florida Home Builders Credit Union.
Throughout his life, Al was an avid traveler who visited over thirty-five countries. He also loved skiing and went every chance he could. Genealogy was a lifelong pursuit, and his current family record includes over 20,000 people. Albert is dearly missed by family and friends.
