Al was my first love. We went to 3 proms together and I thought that we would marry someday. Like all high school romances we grew apart. But Al was always in my heart. I just heard today of his passing and I'm shocked and so saddened for his children, his wife and his family. He was a wonderful boy and a wonderful man. He will be forever missed.

I met Al working for Sears in the mid 1970's,,,We hit it off,, and remained close friends all these years,, even though there were times we didnt speak for months,, He was a close friend,, that I will truely miss,, my deepest condolences,,,to his family ,,

I was so shocked to find out that he passed.  I remember when our children were small, we spent every Chanukah at his home, with his ex-wife Caroline and children, cousins and friends, exchanging gifts, he would dress up as Chaunukah Harry!!!  Love to him and his family-Ines Izower and Children

Al and I first met many years ago, through my sister Patricia, when they were both students at Fordham University. We became close friends, and shared many wonderful times together; skiing, playing in basketball leagues, and innumerable family gatherings. It was a privilege having Al as a friend, not only because of his positive energy and outlook on life, but also knowing he would always be there for you at a time of need. Love you Al.

Most of your friends call you Al. I go back to the days when you were Alfie. I will always remember all the times I spent at your house in the Bronx, the times at Spellman, the Prom, and playing handball, football and basketball at P.S. 68 schoolyard. I still keep a picture that you and I are in. You were a big part of my growing up. With your passing, part of me has passed too. I wish we had remained in touch all these years. For this I am sorry. A warm and friendly classmate at Cardinal Spellman High School, Al apparently kept getting better with age. My sincere condolences to his family for their loss; I will keep Al in my prayers.

Though I had not seen Al in over 30 years, this came as a tremendous shock. I remember Al from High School and before that from our old neighborhood in the Bronx, as quiet, but quick-witted and funny, and always good-natured. My thoughts and prayers are with him, and my heart goes out to his wife & children and the entire Pierri family.

What a loss for us all.  I will always remember Al for his generosity, his kindness, his wisdom, his great sense of humor.  He always threw in the funniest asides – so subtle, yet so true and on the mark.  It was such a treat to be around this man.  Al was so experienced and talented at so many things, but he did not flaunt these abilities.  He would also be the first to give you the shirt off his back.  Al was a good friend. Many years ago I had occaision to write a letter in support of Al and I wrote something to the effect that, should anything happen to me, I hoped that Al, of all the people I knew, would be around to offer advice to our two sons on matters large and small. Nothing ever changed that perspective. I can't hold anyone in higher regard than that.

you have always been a part of our lives, always looking after us, protecting us but never judging us.. 
although we have been apart the last 20 years, living in different countries, we have never grown apart as a family, we were never distant.
you have always guided us in our lives and have been someone to look up to and follow in your ways.
So many memories, as our big brother in high school,in freshman year looking for that good looking senior  who turned out to be my brother, vacations with the families, traveling through Italy together , sharing a good bottle of wine 
and also through the difficult times that our family has struggled through together with the loss of our loved ones
You have always been humble, success did not change your ways, the day you took us through Newark showing us all of your projects,  we were so impressed, thank you for sharing your successes and giving us the opportunity to tell you how proud we were of you. 
You were a good brother in law and uncle to our children and we will be thankful to you for that. 
your children,Michael and Jacquie are a mirror of your ways, keep him in your hearts and he will guide you.
We  will  be here for you as Al has been  here for us and our families and will try to comfort you in his absence.

I am proud to have known Al for well over 30 years and have never known anyone so loved and liked by everyone he came in contact with.  He is the gentlest of souls and kindest of men.  You will be greatly missed, Fredo.  You left us way too soon, brother.

There are no words to express how this loss was painful and shocking.  We did not know a lot about him but Antoniette's lovely descriptions were enough.  With Simpathy, AL , you will miss everyone.

So sad!  Al was a truley fantastic man.  We played hockey together for a few years but we really enjoyed watching his children play. He would laugh and admit they were much better than he.  Always giving and asking for nothing in return.  Al will be missed by all.

I knew Al when he was 22 and he was a such a great guy and now after reading about his adult life where he raised his family in my own town and I missed making the connection it makes me so sad. Even my now adult children remember how nice he was. I light this candle for the light he shone on others

I played hockey with Al on the NJ Fireblades. He was one of the best teammates that I have ever skated with. He was always a true gentlemen. God Bless his family and may he rest in peace.

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the Pierri family. I speak for his Fordham University family at KZE. He was a great friend and he will be missed. We are all deeply saddened. He was funny, intelligent and most of all very cool.

Our deepest sympathy to the Pierri family from Al's former NJ Fireblade Teammates and fellow Saturday AM Hockey players.

Although Al was not my father by blood he was like a second father to me growing up. When I was eight year's old and wanted to join my best friend Michael playing hockey, Al took us to the local sports store to get hockey equipment. When I was a little older and wanted to be a pilot, Al would support me by telling us all about his days flying planes. And when Michael, Jacquie, and I started to make films in middle school, Al supported us by letting us use his video equipment to make movies around the home. Al will be remembered as caring, genuine, and generous. He will be deeply missed by the Finger family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pierri family.

We are so sorry to hear the sad news of Al's passing.  You have become dear friends to us as we became acquainted through our common links as neighbors and yacht club/boating buddies. Al Pierri, my friend and Brother-in- Law. There is so much that I can say about the meaningful relationship I had with Al. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or space to share all I want to share with others. I know we all have had friends but we all know they can be separated as friends or acquaintances. Al was what we consider a true friend. I openly stated to Al many times during our activities together, that I felt, he was a kind, caring and generous man. He openly displayed this not only to his family and friends but also to people he had just met. I gained a special admiration for Al, when I noticed him doing something he had never done before. Quick example, boating, he bought a 25 foot boat and then told me he knew very little about how to drive or dock it. I then said okay, let's start our lessons. It did not take long for me to look at him and say, Al you know more in a short time about boating than I learned in years.  He was the kind of man that wasn't satisfied until he knew all he needed to know about a subject. I have a number of stories like this that I could share about Al and I.   I once told him over dinner that I always wanted a brother. Well, I ended up with two sisters and I shared a laugh with Al about that. I told him that I would enjoy treating him like the brother I never had. Knowing I was handicapped Al and I would participate in sports that I could handle. Target shooting was one of them. Here we are again where I had years of shooting experience, Al had a lot less. Of course we know that didn't mean much because in no time, Al became a marksman. I did find out that he did not have any experience with rifles. I felt so good being able to share my knowledge with him. I saw in his face and actions he appreciated my help.  I can't express how good I felt being able to help a person who helps so many others. I could only say that there is so much more to be said in respect for this fine Person.  In closing, I lost a true friend and as we would both say "My Bro".  God Bless you Al and rest in peace.
