

Alice Kimble Eshelman, 86, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Monday Feb 20th, in Clearwater, Florida. Visitation will be on March 8th from 5:00-7:00pm. A native of Linden, Tennessee, Alice was born on August 27, 1936; she was the first of eight children born to Osby Allen Kimble and Ella Izzel Moore Kimble. Alice graduated from Linden High School in 1954. In the fall of 1954, she enrolled in Freed Hardeman College in Henderson Tennessee and graduated with an Associate Degree in 1956. In the fall of 1956, she and her sister Mary Nell enrolled in Austin Peay State University and Alice graduated in 1958 with a B.S. degree in elementary education. In June 1959 she married Richard James Eshelman of Rochester, N.Y. and they moved to Clearwater, Florida. She taught school in the Pinellas County, Florida school system for over 25 years and retired in 2005. Along with loving and dedicating her life to her husband and three children she also touched the lives of her many students. She has left a legacy of love for her family and all the students she taught to read, write, problem solve and to appreciate the world around them. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Richard James Eshelman and brothers Frank O’Neal Kimble, William Moore Kimble, John Allen Kimble, and her sister Mary Nell Kimble Smith. Alice is survived by her three children, Richard Jay (Jeanette) Eshelman of Ocala, Florida, Donna Eshelman (Lorne Schinbein) of Dunedin, Florida and Tina Eshelman Burcham of Clearwater, Florida and two grandchildren Molly Schinbein and Christopher Burcham. Her surviving siblings are Patsy Haston of Trenton, Kentucky, Julia (Richard) Ussery Hopkinsville, Kentucky and David Kimble of Linden, Tennessee and nieces and nephews Greg Haston, Tim Smith, Jennifer Haston, Michael Ussery, Shawn Kimble, and Kathleen Kimble Vess.

A visitation for Alice will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759.
