Angelo J. Madonis

of Clearwater died Thursday May 2nd at Morton Plant Hospital.

Born March 2nd, 1925 in Tsakaioi, Evia, Greece. He was the son of John and Aikaterini Tolias Meintanis.

Angelo was a painter for the Union Local 33 in Joliet, Illinois. He also owned and operated, with his wife, Angelo’s Restaurant. Angelo served in the Greek Navy during WWII. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Macedonia Club.

Angelo is survived by his loving wife, Frances Grepares Madonis of Clearwater, sons, John (Janene) Madonis of Chicago, Illinois, Andrew (Rebecca) Madonis of Hollywood, Florida, James (Margaret) Madonis of Shorewood, Illinois and Angelo Madonis of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren John, Michael, Andrew, Angela, Alexander, Katherine, Christina and Angelo, great grandchildren Lilyana and Matthew Madonis. Angelo is predeceased by two brothers Demetrios and Christos Meintanis and his sister Sophia Stavroulis.

A Funeral service will be 5pm Tuesday May 7th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home-693 South Belcher Rd. Clearwater. Friends and family may call two hours prior from 3-5pm at the funeral home.
