

Born in Ballyea, Tiermaclane, County Clare, Ireland, to Mary and Patrick Pender, Annie immigrated to the Bronx, NY, at 17, sponsored by her uncle, Frank O’Brien. She worked for AT&T before marrying Thomas Spellissy, whom she had known from childhood.
In 1973, Annie and her family moved to Clearwater, FL, where she was a devoted member of Light of Christ Catholic Church.
Annie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, dedicated to her family and their accomplishments. She played a key role in keeping her family connected between the U.S. and Ireland. Annie was also an active member of the Florida West Coast Irish American Club and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, where she served as treasurer.
She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Tom, with Ireland being her favorite destination. Annie loved spending time with family and friends, whether dining out or at home, and had a deep appreciation for Irish music.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents, and sisters May and Kathie. She is survived by her children: Thomas “Tom” Spellissy (Donna), Marie Spellissy, Michael Spellissy (Bette), JoAnne Spellissy Navas (Gus), and Eileen Spellissy Slattery (John); five grandchildren: Erin Doyle Johnsen, Katie Doyle Mulqueen, Brenna Spellissy, Liam Spellissy, and Meghan Doyle; four great-grandchildren: Claire Johnsen, Catherine Johnsen, Charlie Mulqueen, and Abel Mulqueen; her brothers Tom and Joseph Pender; and 27 nieces and nephews.
Mass and visitation will be held at Light of Christ Catholic Church, Clearwater, Florida.
