Barbara Forester, age 72 of Safety Harbor, FL passed away at Morton Plant Hospital on October 28th at 11:55 pm. She was born on August 3, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John Louis and Genevieve (Rose) Philipp. Barbara was a strong, vibrant woman and dearly loved by many. Her belief in family first was paramount. Her wholehearted love was applied in everything she touched or tasked to accomplish. She instilled deep family values in those close to her heart. She was no stranger to learning or teaching life’s lessons and truly desired to impart her wisdom and experience. Barbara was a rock solid foundation for her family and those she loved. Barbara was always the life of the party and especially if she was hosting. She was creative and could decorate impeccably, even with a limited budget. Barb sewed her own costumes and enjoyed dressing up for Halloween. Even out of costume, Barbara was a well-put together woman who paid attention to the fine details that comprised the whole ensemble. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert T. Forester; daughter, Natalie Crede (Jim Crede) and her grandchildren, Alexander Crede (Samantha Kamer ) and Nicholas Crede. She is loved and will be dearly missed by so many including her sister, brother in law, brothers, sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. In loving memory of Barbara, services will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759 from 1pm - 3pm on Monday, November 4th, 2019.

Graveside Services will be held on November 16, 2019 at 12 noon at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery - 6001 W. 111th Street - Alsip, IL. 60803.

I missed you so much on Thanksgiving. Well I miss you everyday. I just wanted to tell you my stuffing turned out pretty good. I don’t know if it will ever be as good as yours, but it was good.

Memories of Barb started in 1961 with my last name beginning with Pi and Barb’s began with Ph. Most of our classes were sitting next-to or in-back-of or near each other. All this was lucky for me. Barb became a friend that I could depend on being on my side. I could not ever forget her if I tried. Barb, her parents and family are some of the nicest people I have been lucky enough to love and call my friends. She will ALWAYS be thought of by me for as long as I live and I hope to see her in the after-life. I thought you would ALWAYS be here. I miss you. Liz.

I met Barbara in the call center at HSN. After a brief meeting, I saw her agin maybe a few months later and she remembered everything we chatted about which impressed me very much as most people hardly listen, especially the boss. We quickly became friends as Babe went through her “wild” years. We formed a bowling team, ate out a lot, and attended many festivals around town and did many many weekends fishing out at Fort DeSoto. She embraced me and my family and eventually took me in as my mother ran off and got married. She taught me so much about class and manners and basically polished this “diamond in the rough”. Her family embraced me and we spent many holidays having fun and laughing a ton. We took the kids to amusement parks, played practical jokes on them and truly enjoyed life. When I was offered an opportunity to attend the Kentucky Derby first class the whole way, Barb was the first person I called. She taught me so much about horse racing. Not a Derby day goes by that I don’t think about her. My big regret is not staying in touch as I should have. Your BIG personality is a loss to us all. Thank you for all you have done for and been to me. I wish you peace in heaven Barbara, for no one deserves it more than you do. My mom will be so happy to see you. I love you.

My mom let me skip school so we could show the Aunties Big Bone and Rabbit Hash. We had so much fun that day.

When we were young, Barb and I would stay over some nights at Grandma Rose's house. Grandma had this beautiful dressing table in her room, and we would play dress-up and put on fashion shows for her, parading around in Grandma's clothes. I looked up to my beautiful cousin for so many reasons, and have so many wonderful memories; going to her dance recitals and watching her perform the 'Highland Fling', I thought was so cool! She always made me feel included when I would tag along with her, to her spots in Hegewish. Barb was always warm and giving, all through her life. My heart goes out to her family, and all who loved her. She will be dearly missed.
