Betty L Grubbs

Betty was born in Scottsville, KY on September 5, 1929 and attended Scottsville High School. She married Manuel P. Grubbs in 1947 and shortly thereafter they moved to Chattanooga where she worked as an insurance underwriter. She and Manuel moved to Clearwater where they lived out the Florida dream together until Manuel’s passing in 2007.

Betty was a devout Christian and zealot of her faith. If you met her for the first time it would not be long before she would ask you if you were a Christian and where you went to church.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Ted (Phyllis) of Bartow, Florida, Tim (Pam) of Lake Mary, Florida, step-daughter Charlotte Rush, Birmingham, Alabama, grandchildren Martin (Alicia) Davis, Floral City, Florida, Linzee (Jorge) Herrand, (Orlando) and Alana (Aaron) Smith (Ft. Payne, Alabama) , and great-grandchildren Jada, Ansley, Aidan, Kaylee, Elijah, Mason, Hanna, Ava, Jaxson, and Noah.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Versie Lantz, her husband of fifty-eight years, Manuel, daughter Anne, grandson Joseph and brother William E. Lantz.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater, Florida with funeral service at noon. Interment will be in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
