He was born in Weehawken, New Jersey on January 20, 1951. He was the youngest of five children born to Roger Higgins and Anna (Ekiert) Higgins. Following his graduation from Weehawken High School, he earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and pursued his love of photography at the New School at Parsons School of Design. For 25 years he owned and operated a punching and embroidery design company, B&G Studios, in Guttenberg, New Jersey. During this time, he raised his family in Blairstown, New Jersey, where he enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, photography, diving, and coaching his daughters’ softball teams.
In 2003 he settled in Clearwater, Florida, with his adoring wife, Karina Nacer. They married in 2008, and together found a love for cooking, traveling, and cherishing time spent together. They relocated to Spring Hill, Florida, in 2022, at which time he found a fondness for sailing and a hidden talent for woodworking.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karina; three beloved daughters, Erin Higgins; Leah Coffman and her husband, Matthew; and Reagan Higgins; and two treasured grandchildren, Bailey and Emrys; as well as many loving extended family members. He now joins in Heaven his brothers Roger, Joseph, and Gerald, and his sister, Patricia.
He will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, passion for travel and new adventures, and his love for the ocean. He was a man of few words who had a profound impact on his loved ones, and he leaves us all with many beautiful memories.
