Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Calvin Wyatt Sr. and Joan (Josephine) Perry Wyatt, Cal eventually made his home in Florida. He spent several decades as a respected residential appraiser, eventually establishing and operating his own successful appraisal business. His sharp mind for detail and commitment to fairness earned him the trust of colleagues and clients alike throughout his career.
Outside of his professional life, Cal lived with a vibrant energy and a love for competition. He was a passionate participant in Cowboy Action Shooting, where he found great camaraderie among his SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) buddies. When he wasn’t on the range, he could often be found behind the wheel of a fast car or sitting around a card table, testing his luck and skill at Texas Hold 'Em with his poker buddies.
Family was the cornerstone of Cal’s life. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 40 years, Janet DeStefano Wyatt, whose partnership was the great joy of his life. He also leaves behind his sister, Ann Wyatt Johnson, and her husband, Roger. Cal was a proud and loving stepfather to Lori Huechtker and her husband, Ted, and he took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Jakob and Summer Huechtker, who will carry forward his memory.
Cal will be remembered for his steady nature, his entrepreneurial spirit, and the joy he found in a well-played hand and a fast open road.
