Mr. Charles F. Poiles

POILES, Charles F., 84 of Clearwater, FL died October 19, 2015. Chuck was born in Evansville, Indiana. He had 4 sisters and 1 brother, Jacqueline, Sharon, Pat, Jerry and Shirley. After his high school graduation, he joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Essex. He served 4 years. During those years he met Jane Burge and they were married in 1955.

They relocated to Clearwater in 1959. They had 4 children, Jerry, Mark, Nancy and David. Chuck retired from General Telephone where he worked as a supervisor. He continued to work after his retirement for Johnson & Johnson, Maxim Medical and Publix.

Chuck loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. He was a member of Lakeside Community Chapel for 50 years. He taught 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School for 17 years. He was very devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Poiles and sisters, Jacqueline Hust and Sharon Morris. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane; children, Mark (Ruth) Poiles, Los Lunas, NM, Nancy Poiles, St. Petersburg, FL, David (Heather) Poiles, Lynchburg, VA and daughter in law, Terri Poiles, Dahlonega, GA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Community Chapel Benevolent Fund.

It was said of him by a fellow brother in Christ, “May we all end our days on earth with such dignity, grace and confidence in Jesus or Saviour.”
