Born in Melrose Park, Illinois, Chet moved to Safety Harbor in 1981, where he made his home and became a cherished member of the community.
Chet was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife, Kathryn, and a loving father to his children, Michael (and his wife Kimberly), Mary Jo, and Christine (and her husband Thomas). His nine grandchildren— Jacob, Kayla, Michael, Matthew, Anthony, Hope, Hunter, Rylee, and Rowan—were the lights of his life, and his love for them knew no bounds.
A man of many passions, Chet had a deep love for baseball, cars, woodworking, and adventure. He was a licensed pilot and SCUBA diver, always seeking out new experiences to share with his family and friends. His zest for life was contagious, and his curiosity about the world around him was endless.
Chet’s dedication to his community was evident in the 15 years he spent serving as an usher at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, where he greeted parishioners with his warm smile and unwavering faith. He was also known as a great friend—always willing to lend a hand, offer support, and share a laugh.
Above all, Chet was a devoted family man who treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral mass will be held at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor. Scroll for times.
