On May 10th, 2025, with heavy hearts, our family said goodbye to our beloved Cindy Shao. The cornerstone of our family, she was an incredible sister and daughter. Cindy was a vibrant young woman with a passion for fashion, faith, and immense love for her family, especially her sisters Yuki and Lily. All the incredible memories of watching kdramas and shopping hauls with her will be cherished forever.
Born on December 28, 2005, in New York, New York, to her devoted parents, Jiao Lin and Liang Shao, Cindy was a radiant spirit from the very beginning. She graduated from Walter L. Sickles High School in 2024. At 19 years of age, she would have finished her first semester at University of Tampa, pursuing her dreams of becoming a nurse. She was working so diligently and even had plans written for completing her next semester. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, with an infectious smile and the most positive outlook anyone has ever had the joy of experiencing.
She is survived by her loving parents, Jiao Lin and Liang Shao; her siblings, Yuki, Andy, Leo, and Lily Shao; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved — a true friend, cherished sister, and treasured daughter.
A graveside service to honor Cindy’s life will be held at 11am on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cindy’s memory to https://gofund.me/96a90f87, fund for her college and memorial.
Though her time with us was far too short, Cindy's light will continue to shine in all who loved her. Every time her sisters thrift, cook, or watch a movie, they will always think of her and how she would enjoy this right now. Her little brother, Andy, will cherish how much care and how attentive Cindy was in moments he needed. We all deeply feel her absence and will miss her until the end of time.
