David Richard Winkenhofer

Passed from this life on June 11, 2025 at the age of 83, David, a resident of Clearwater, Florida, relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 1989.

He taught school for many years prior to moving to Florida, and retired from teaching in the Pinellas County school system in 2016.

In addition to teaching, he was involved in retail businesses, restaurant businesses, and former antique and florist owner in Kentucky.

In addition to many friends who passed on before him, he is survived by many local friends, two sons, Michael of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and Jonathan of Bowling Green, Kentucky, five grandchildren, a few other family members and friends.

He was also predeceased by his oldest child, Dana (Christian) 2009, and only sibling, Robert (Bobby) 2003 Winkenhofer.

Cremation arrangements are being provided by Sylvan Abbey with interment in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, Florida. No formal service will be held.

David was twice commissioned by a Kentucky Colonel and Riverboat Captain. He also served on the Kentucky Restaurant Association Board, Bullitt County Education Association, Pinellas County Classroom Association, Elizabethtown Jaycees.
