Debra “Debbie” Ann Stafford, 66, of Clearwater, passed away March 11, 2022 at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family, close friends and all who knew and loved her.
Debbie was born in Syracuse, NY on February 2, 1956 (Groundhog’s Day), to Jack and Barbara Stafford. She grew up in Ormond Beach before moving to Dunedin in 1972. She settled down in Clearwater where she worked as a dental assistant and medical transcriptionist before retiring from Honeywell.
In life she loved her family, friends and her pets. She enjoyed riding her purple trike with the wind in her hair. Her favorite color was purple and Monarch butterflies were very special to her. Festivals, flea markets, music, movies, shows and soaps were her favorite pastimes. Her birds entertained her by chirping, playing and talking continously. She loved talking on the phone and could charm anyone, even the person taking her payment. People loved talking with her because she made them laugh with her comments and self-deprecating humor. It made their day a little brighter. She stayed sassy, sarcastic, independent and stubborn right until the end.
Debbie is now at peace, joining her brothers Johnny & Michael, her father Jack and her beloved mother Barbara. She is survived by her brother Jim Stafford of New Port Richey, FL, sister-in-law Jodi, nephews Grant and Blake, nieces Christina and Stephanie. She will be deeply missed by her family, close friends and her birds. They will all carry her memory in their hearts.
Debbie will be laid to rest at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
A famous quote from Debbie:
"Those who knew me, knew me well. Those who didn’t, can go to hell.” -Debbie Stafford, 2022
