Donald A White departed this earthly world and was called home to his eternal reward on August 20, 2025. He was born in Cordele, GA on June 5, 1945, to Marcus Donald White and Addie Maud Singletary White.
Don and his wife Sherry, moved with their children to St. Petersburg, FL in the summer of 1980. Don was an LPN and worked for Neighborly Care Network, Inc., a Pinellas County Non-Profit, for nearly 25 years before retiring in 2007. He loved his career taking care of seniors as a nurse in the adult day care centers operated by Neighborly. He made lasting friendships with those he worked with during his years there. He was always known as the “Male Nurse” by the clients he took care of. His daughter, Jenni, was fortunate enough to work with him at Neighborly for many years as well.
Don loved nature, had a green thumb, and loved his butterfly garden. Even more than that, Don loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His infamous humor continued throughout his retirement years and all those who knew Don succumbed to his wit. Don was a member of Congregation Ohr Chadash.
His departure in this world has left a void that will never be completely filled. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Sherry) D White; his daughter, Jennifer White (Willie Lewis); his son, Jason White (Patty White); his granddaughters, Kayla, Alexis, Celeste, and Nicole; his grandsons, Kyle and Colin; his great-grandsons, Julius (and soon to be born, PJ); his great-granddaughters, Athena, Neveah, Heaven, and Summer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on 9/14/25 at 1:00 p.m. with light refreshments to follow @ Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759.
