

Dorothy G Norman passed away on Monday, December 26 at the age of 88. At the time of her passing, Dorothy was living in Clearwater, FL where she has resided for the last 30 years. Prior to moving to FL, she resided in Greenwich and then Darien CT. Aside from being a homemaker, Dorothy also worked for Grand Union from which she retired in 1992.
Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband Frank J Szast in 1966 with whom, she had 3 children. She was so happy and fortunate to have met her second husband Peter E Norman with whom she spent 40 wonderful and devoted years before his passing in 2015. She was also predeceased by a sister, Betty Kennelly, three brothers, Jack and Richard Meehan, and Frank Lennon and a great granddaughter, Aubrey Szast.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her three children, son James Szast of FL, son Allan Szast (Dawn) of CT and daughter Linda Tripodi (Joe) also of CT. A brother William Lennon (Judy) of FL and brother Danny Meehan also of FL. She also leaves 7 grandchildren: Christopher, Daniel, Amanda, Anna, David, Lauren and Brandon and several great Grandchildren, Nephews, and Nieces.
Dorothy’s warm smile and incredibly kind heart will be missed by all who knew her but leaves an especially large hole in the hearts of those that loved her. Her amusing and sarcastic wit will also be fondly remembered and missed.
A 1:00pm graveside service will be held @ Sylvan Abbey Cemetery at 2860 Sunset Pt. Road in Clearwater on Sunday, January 22. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made to either to the American Cancer Society, or Suncoast Hospice who helped with her care in her final weeks.
