

Of Clearwater, 82, passed away with family by her side on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2011. She was born Feb. 4, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN and grew up in Scarsdale, NY. She attended East Chester High School in Tuckahoe, NY, and went on to attend Berkeley School in White Plains, NY. Upon graduation, she was employed with Shell Oil and worked in New York City.
She met her late husband, Michael Palmieri, in New York, and later moved to Florida in 1956, where she raised her 3 children.
Dorothy was very involved with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority’s, Sunshine City Council. In 1963, she was named”Girl of Year”. She was also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Magnolia Chapter. Through her 55 years in Florida, she was very active volunteering in the public school system and numerous committees at church. She was a Parishioner at The Church of the Ascension for more than 45 years.
She enjoyed Clearwater Beach, Bowling, was an avid golfer. She was member of the ladies group at Countryside Country Club.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Paul) Deppisch of North Carolina, Glenn (Jackie) Palmieri of Tallahassee, and Joy Valha of Orlando; 6 grandchildren; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was a loving and giving mother, who lived life to its fullest with amazing energy and zeal. “Dotty” left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered and missed dearly by all her friends and family. She will forever be in our hearts as we honor and respect her memory in the days to follow.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm, on January 2, 2011, at
Moss-Feaster, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater FL 33764. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on January 3, 2011 at The Church of the Ascension, 701 Orange Avenue, Clearwater FL. An online memorial will be available at www.mossfeasterclearwater.com
