Edward Davies Haan, age 84, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. Ed was born in Chicago, Illinois on Christmas Day, 1938. He was a faithful Anglican and a member of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Riverview. He attended Hope College, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Hawaii. His lifelong career as a Medical Laboratory Technician was at Bayfront Medical Center where he was a dedicated laboratory scientist, teacher, mentor, and friend to patients, students, and fellow lab techs whom he treated as family. He and his amazing, devoted, and loving wife Margaret “Marty” Mason Haan enjoyed travel tours and cruises and adventured to many places throughout the world. He enjoyed classical music and was quite the foodie – a fan of good pizza, barbeque, prime rib, lobster bisque, and filet mignon cooked Pittsburgh rare. He was preceded in death by Marty and his parents Edward Hurley Haan and Pearl Davies Haan. He is survived by first cousin once removed John Stephenson and brother-in-law Joseph Mason, as well as Rexie, the last of many cats he and Marty adopted and adored over the years, treating them affectionately like children. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to SPCA Tampa Bay or Save Our Strays, Inc.
