Ellen Gomperts

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Buggie, her daughter Margaret Burzynski , her granddaughter Linda Besciglia, and her great granddaughter Sheylynn Besciglia.

Ellen was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a WW II airplane factory assembly line worker in Stratford, Connecticut while her husband served in the United States Navy battleship in the Pacific. Ellen was always involved in the war efforts throughout her life. Ellen was a parishioner at Saint Ann Catholic Church in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. Ellen also served as a Sergeant at Arm in the SS Norden Club in the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport.

Ellen lived in several Connecticut cities until she moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1992. Ellen was very active in her Catholic faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes “Circle of Joy” prayer group. In addition,she was a volunteer at Saint Vincent de Paul Pantry at Our Lady of Lourdes. She also helped at Pinellas Hope of Catholic Charities in Saint Petersburg. There she helped serve/feed the homeless.

Ellen is survived by seven grandchildren; Ted Rappa, Deborah Cosme, Ann Marie Rappa Parrinello, Richard Burzynski, Michael Piscitelli, Jill Ann Atwood and Dina Chairs. Thirteen great-grand children Bridget and Katie Rappa; Nina Cosme; Richard and Harley Burzynski; Joseph Besciglia; Michael Jr. and Julianna Piscitelli; Brandon, Christopher, Nicholas and Haley Atwood; Steven Greenlee. Three Great-Great-grand children Briley Besciglia; David and Marley Burzynski.
