82, of Palm Harbor, passed away May 30, 2018. Born in Ardmore, PA in 1936. Graduated from Haverford High in 1954. Tom moved to this area in the late 1950’s. He was in the Air National Guard. Tom served as a police officer for Clearwater and later Dunedin, both for a total of 34 years, and he earned an AA in criminology from St. Petersburg Jr. College in the 1970’s. He loved working with the Dunedin PAL football as a coach, and he finished his career working with schoolchildren, as well as his sidekick, a two-foot “E.T.” doll dressed as a Dunedin police officer. “E.T.” the alien now resides in the Dunedin Historical Museum on Douglas Ave. Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce; four sons, Robert, Marshall, Ronald, and Christian; nine grandchildren; and one brand new great-grandson, Jenson Thomas. A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Countryside Baptist Church, 2525 McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater, FL 33761.
