Frances Ivonne Bird Roig died peacefully in the comfort of her home on January 4th 2017 in Clearwater Florida at the age of 55. Frances is survived by her caring husband Alberto; her adoring sons: Alberto Francisco and Jose Manuel; and her three loving siblings: Luis Roig, Lisanne Rosado and Arlene Garcia. She is preceded in death by her mother, Magda Hosta and her father Luis Roig. Frances Bird was born into this world on July 25, 1962 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Magda Hosta and Luis Roig. She successfully completed her education at the University of Puerto Rico and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Accounting. She became the Operations and Accounting Senior Manager at Celeste Hernandez, Inc. Shortly after, Frances had the fortune of meeting the love of her life, Alberto Bird, at a birthday party for her brother Luis. The spark between them grew into everlasting light and on March 21st 1986 they were happily married. Over the next decade, the couple welcomed two beautiful sons into their life and moved from Puerto Rico to Florida. Frances continued her journey through life and raised her children with the purest love a mother could give. Her husband Alberto was accepted to continue his education in periodontics at Boston University so, the family made a move up north. There, Frances with her amazing kindness continued making friends and started working in the optical field. After four years, they moved back to Florida where they moved around, living in Daytona Beach, Orlando and finally setting roots in Clearwater were she helped establish her husband’s periodontal practice as the role of office manager. In the later years of her life, Frances battled breast cancer with an unmatched courage and faith in God. Her fight with cancer was not fought alone. She had an immense amount of love and support from her countless friends and family which fueled her positivity towards the future. Throughout those years, Frances was very supportive of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as a participator in three separate three day walks around the country. She spread love and joy to anyone that met her and her smile could fill the room with such warmth. Frances taught all of us what living life truly meant and she will always be remembered in our hearts forever. There will be a reception following the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to www.thehospicefoundation.org
