Frances C. Mailhot

Our beloved Frances Catherine Mailhot (83) passed away peacefully in the early afternoon on December 29, 2018 at Mease Countryside Hospital after battling pneumonia and finally succumbing to kidney failure. She was surrounded by friends and family throughout her final days, but finally was called to meet her cherished Maker. Born in Roatán, Honduras, Frances worked as a beautician, business owner, and certified nursing assistant throughout her life. She was a world traveller who loved going on annual tropical destination cruises. She visited many countries in her younger years; among her favorites were Germany, Egypt, and Israel. She was a devout Catholic and selfless woman who will be remembered for her unparalleled generosity and strength. She lived to nurture and served as Nanny for generations of local children throughout her neighborhood, who in turn, became family. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, raising butterflies, dancing, cooking, and indulging her sweet tooth.

Frances is survived by her devoted husband, Frederick (Fred) Mailhot of 64 years; their three loving children, Michael and Robert Mailhot, and Vivian (Robert) Page; two cherished grandchildren, Steven and Rachel Page; two dearest sisters, Olga Schmidt, and Doris Boyer; as well as nephews, Charles and John Schmidt; and niece, Diane Boyer. In lieu of flowers, Frances would have wanted donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support her lifelong devotion to children.
