

Frank G. Cardy of Oldsmar, Florida passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was born November 23, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 65 years - Ann (nee Karr) Cardy; son Thomas (Eugenia) Cardy; daughters Jean (John) Tsagaris and Angela (Mark) LaFon; grandchildren David (Caroline) LaFon, Julianne (William) Damaskos, Anthony LaFon, Christina Cardy, Stephen Tsagaris, and Martha LaFon; and great-granddaughter Margaret LaFon. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugenia (nee Altine) and George Thomas Cardy; brother George Cardy and sister Melba Berris. Frank was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater where he served on the Parish Council for many years and was a member of the Leisure Timers and the Order of AHEPA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was founder and President of Cardy Paper and Supply in Detroit, Michigan. He relocated from Redford, Michigan to Seminole, Florida in 1971. The family will receive visitors at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759, on Friday, September 2 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with Trisagion service at 7 pm. Funeral Services will take place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday, September 3 at 11 am followed by interment at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Capital Campaign, 409 S. Old Coachman Road, Clearwater, FL 33765.
