Heather L Ursini

Heather Lynne Ursini, RN is survived by her loving family and friends. Her daughters Sharon Ursini of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Lyn Ursini of Los Angeles, California, and Lyn’s partner Lily Rodriguez. Her beloved grandsons Nathan Joseph Martin and Avery Ursini-Rodriguez. Sisters Priscilla Hennessey of Portland Maine, Pamela Bollis and Allison Rhoades, both of Meadville, Pennsylvania, and Charles Bixby of Flatonia, Texas. Bixby in-laws Tim Everett and Tom Hennessey and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves many, many beloved friends who meant the world to her.

Heather is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Joseph Ursini. Parents Wallace and Dorothy (Newton) Bixby, sisters Valerie Everett and Marcia Bixby, brothers Paul Bixby and George Bixby.

Heather graduated from Newton Wellesley Nursing School in 1967 and commenced her lifelong and diverse career as a Registered Nurse. Over the course of her career, Heather touched many lives with her compassionate and skilled care. Later in her career, she played a significant role in designing an innovative telehealth platform, the first of its kind.

Upon retirement, Heather continued to care for others and nothing made her happier than giving of herself. Heather touched everyone she met with her warm and loving spirit. She had a wanderlust that led her to many places, both land and sea. She never shied away from a challenge, embraced adventure, and loved with all her heart - Heather lived her life to the fullest.

A celebration of life is being planned and information will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward, as this is how Heather lived her life.
