Helen Nicolopoulos Christophilopoulos was born in Neohorio, Meligala, Messinias, Greece on March 25, 1930. She married Epaminondas on January 31, 1954. They immigrated to the United States in 1967. Eleni made her home in Lowell, MA for 18 years and then moved to Clearwater, FL in 1985. Eleni was a seamstress and an active member in her church. She was the matriarch of the family and her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Eleni is preceded in death by her son, James Christopher. She is survived by her husband, Epaminondas, her daughter, Effie Christodoulakis, her daughter in law, Mary Christopher, four granddaughters, Eleni and Katie Christopher and Alexandra and Kristina Christodoulakis. Eleni is also survived by a sister in Greece, Panagiota Peronis, her sons Antonios, George and Elefterios and their families, two brothers in Lowell, MA, Kostas and his wife Eleni Nicolopoulos, their son George and his family and Theodore and his wife Nikki Nikolopoulos, their sons George and Nick and their families and many cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren here in the US and in Greece.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Kimissis Tis Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 1910 Douglas Ave, Clearwater, FL 33755 at 10:00amwith the internment graveside service at Curlew Hills Cemetery, Palm Harbor, FL.
In lieu of flowers it is requested donations be made to KimissisTis Theotokos Orthodox Church or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater.
