

57, of Largo, Florida passed away peacefully December 27, 2021.
He was born in Dunedin, Florida at Mease Hospital on January 21, 1964. James graduated from Largo High School in 1982 with honors. He was also a student counselor and ran on the cross-country team.
James worked/had a career in the hospitality industry as a chef and as a restaurant manager. He was a chef at various restaurants starting at 688 in Largo, the Hungry Fisherman in Indian Shores, and Island Sea Grill in Clearwater where he was also a manager. While working at Island Sea Grill, not only was he a manager; he was working with his siblings, Kenneth, Paul, and Teresa. Later, he was a chef again at Aqua, Catches Waterfront Grill, Salt Rock Grill, and Eurest Compass Group (Transamerica). Jimmy was a hard worker and he loved what he did for a living.
He was a member of Countryside Christian Center and had a passion for running, whether it be by himself or running marathons for charity. Jimmy also enjoyed going to the beach, playing frisbee with friends, and watching sports on t.v., especially Nascar.
James was preceded by his grandparents, both Clark and Massie. His father; Blair Eugene Massie, and his beloved Jack Russell terrier; Spunky.
James is survived by his daughter; Amanda Rose Huber and her husband Blaise. His son; Sean James Massie, and his stepson; Christopher Brett Ward. James is also survived by his mother; Carol Derochie, three brothers; Michael, Kenneth, Paul and his wife Terry, and his sister Teresa Massie. James leaves behind his uncle Richard and aunt Kathy Clark (God Parents), and his uncle Wayne and Walt Clark. Along with cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and, great nephews, he leaves behind many friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 22nd at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Pt. Rd., Clearwater, FL 33759.
