
James Warner Newton, age 74, of Safety Harbor, Florida passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Thursday, June 9, 2022. James was born November 29, 1947 to James Newton and Cecile Richards Newton in Atlanta, Georgia.
James grew up in Alabama and was the quarterback for his High School football team. Upon graduation, James joined the Air Force and served for four years. He flew over the Arctic Circle as a specialized crew member many times and really took pride in the service he was providing America. After his time in the Air Force, James started working in the medical field and was a consultant for medical equipment, well into his late 30's.
James was very devoted to his fellow veterans. James's devotion didn't stop there. He loved helping people and really believed his purpose was to serve others. He spent a lot of time and dedication to Toys for Tots and his community of Safety Harbor. He was a private person but if you were close with James, you knew he was a storyteller and he was very intelligent. James and his wife Nancy liked to spend time with their family, they cherished the time they spent traveling together and particularly enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
James leaves behind his wife of 27 years; Nancy Newton, step children; Nancy, Mark, and Jon, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two nieces and three nephews of Alabama. All will miss him dearly.
Per James's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
