Out of all the memories I have of Grandpa the best ones for me were of our trip to Illinois. I was about 11-12ish, and stuck in the back seat with Uncle Robert pestering me the whole way there. I thought between the 2 of us in the back seat fighting the whole way he was sure to loose his mind! We stopped at every Shoney's restaurant on the way from Florida to Illinois. One time I forgot my big pink purse and didn't realize it until several exits later. Even though there was nothing in my purse, since I was only 11ish, he still turned around and we went back for it. I remember how excited he was visiting all the places he had lived, grown up and just visited. He pointed them all out to me. It was truly a great vacation I will never forget. I will miss you Grandpa.

Uncle Jim was a wonderful man. He was always quick with a joke and always tried to make you smile. We will remember his strong spirit and loving nature. RIP Uncle Jim, you will be truly missed.

Uncle Jim was always my protector, whether I wanted it or not, from preteen until his passing. The older I got the more I valued this in him. He could make just about anyone smile and laugh. When I think of him, I smile even in this sudden and sad loss of my uncle. You see I was his #1 niece, he told me so every time we talked. Then he would add, "Don't tell Diane." I learned to my great distress that he did the same to Diane, adding-but don't tell Carol Ann. You can put us both in your addressbook as #1, Aunt Pat but C comes before D. Haha! Even if you go by last names, WAS comes before WAT...Aunt Pat, I love you, Mickie, Robin, Steve, Michael, Billy and Bobby, I love you all. I am so glad that God chose to place me in the midst of your family. Keep in touch and God bless from Alphonso (I'm keeping his glasses clean, Mickie) and Carol Ann
