

James Thomas Paul Sr., age 81, of Largo, Florida passed away on Sunday March 1, 2020. James was born October 15, 1938. James was living at Regal Palms Assisted Living Facility in Largo when he passed peacefully of old age.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue Paul, his sons, Jason Alan Paul & James David Russell, and nieces & nephews, Jennifer Paul Kurtin, Rex & Jeff Paul, and Margret Gillespie.
Growing up on a farm in Georgia, James learned from a young age the meaning of hard work. He attended Boone high school in Georgia and enlisted in the United States Navy upon graduation and was honorably discharged. James moved from his Florida home town of Orlando in the early 70's to Clearwater and started a construction company.
James is know as an honest, generous, and hard working man. Employees, customers, & vendors continue to expressed how much they admired and respected him throughout his career being president of Cocoa Masonry of Pinellas County, Inc. and being a developer of commercial property. James also loved rehabbing residential properties.
James enjoyed deep sea fishing with friends, employees, and his family. He was also very fond of fishing the rainbow river where he had a second home with friends and his brother, Roy Paul. James always loved to play tennis with his wife and children. Traveling with friends and cruises with his family in the summer time were passions of his.
A visitation for James will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida 33759. A funeral service will occur Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida 33759. A committal service will occur Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida 33759. A burial will occur at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, Florida 33759.
